Eric & Janelle Boyenga
The Property Nerds at Compass. Nearly three decades of buying and selling mid-century modern homes across Silicon Valley — and a genuine obsession with how they're built.
We started in 1996, and we never stopped nerding out
Eric and Janelle have been a team — in business and in life — since the mid-1990s. Over that time they've closed more than 2,000 homes and over $2 billion in Silicon Valley real estate, and built one of Compass's top-ranked teams in the region.
Somewhere along the way, clients started calling them the Property Nerds. It stuck because it's true: they geek out on floor plans, roof assemblies, appraisal math, disclosure packages and neighborhood history. For mid-century modern homes — where the architecture is the value — that turns out to be exactly the right kind of nerd to hire.
Data on one side, architecture on the other
Priced by hand
Every valuation is built from real comparable sales and adjusted for the things that actually move an Eichler — original plan, atrium, roof, glazing, remodel quality — not a blind price-per-foot.
Architecturally fluent
We can tell a Jones & Emmons plan from a Claude Oakland one, spot a sympathetic remodel from a fought-with one, and explain exactly what Sunnyvale's design guidelines will let you change.
Full-service team
Behind the two of us is a team handling disclosures, inspections, staging, marketing and transaction management — so nothing stalls and nothing slips.
Compass tools
Compass Concierge fronts the cost of pre-sale improvements. Private Exclusives and the Compass network reach buyers and sellers before anything hits the open market.

Where we work
Home base is Los Gatos, and Sunnyvale — with roughly 1,100 Eichlers across sixteen tracts — is the densest mid-century market in the region. We also represent buyers and sellers in the Eichler neighborhoods of Cupertino (Fairgrove), Mountain View, Los Altos, Palo Alto and San Jose's Willow Glen, plus mid-century homes by Mackay, Streng and other modern builders.
If your home is modern and it's in the South Bay or on the Peninsula, we probably know the tract.
